I went to the stables tonight to have a cheeseburger and a few beers.
Let me just say that the Stables looks great, they have changed a lot since the last time I was in there and it really looks nice in there. Now, I know someone else is running the restaurant, but the cheeseburger was the typical Don Cole Establishment Angus Burger. It's the same thing you see at the Rum Rummer or the Beach Club. Usually those burgers are pretty decent though they usually have a hint of frozen patty taste along with an odd taste from being Angus.
This time however the burger was not very good at all. It tasted like an unfresh frozen patty. I will say that it was cooked perfectly and it came with a really nice toasted bun, but unfresh tasting is simply not cool. Angus burgers are never all that great anyway. I don't know why people have it in their head that Angus is so great for a burger. I'll take some fresh 80% ground chuck anyday over Angus. Prime Rib makes a great burger too if you can afford it, but you can shove Angus up your ass for all I care.
As for the fries, they tasted like they got fried in the same fryer as fish was fried in. Either that or the grease was old. I hate it when places do that and I didn't eat them all.
The prices at the Stables for the Burger were reasonable and I will be going back, but I won't be ordering a cheeseburger or fries again. I have a feeling that the food there is usually pretty good and it deserves another try. I just got a a bad meal is all.
One last thing: I had the triple prime burger at Ruby Tuesdays recently and I got to say it is amazing. It is one of the top 5 best burgers I have ever had. Don't order their regular burger though as it is not as good and for some reason it comes on a wheat bun??? WTF is that all about. Who the hell wants a wheat bun with their cheeseburger?? Ruby Tuesdays also has sucky fries. I don't like them at all. |

| Who made you the king of cheeseburgers!! As for Ruby Tuesdays, we were there on Thursday and had the triple prime burger, I agree it is awesome!! The fries we had there were even better though, they were smothered in cheese and bacon and they were great! As for the Stables burgers, I'v probably eaten 1,500 more burgers then you have and I have never had a bad burger there either.
