Today the Phoenix Star clipped a shoal near Alexandria Bay. Turns out the Phoenix Star isn't the only ship having trouble as of late. Just this Sunday, another ship hit a shoal near Ogdensburg and has yet to be freed.

"JOHNSTOWN, Ont. – A cargo ship that ran aground in the St. Lawrence River just west of the international bridge here on Sunday remained stuck and under investigation Monday by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB). TSB spokesperson John Cottreau said the vessel, M.V. Sedna Desgagnes, had just passed under the international bridge, near Prescott, Ont., when it ran hard aground around 8 a.m. Sunday. There were no injuries reported by the 18 crew members aboard at the time. “What we do is investigate the accident,” Cottreau said. “Our process is we go, assess the situation ... and that tells us whether we do a complete in-depth investigation or collect data and move on.” There was no pollution released. The ship is sitting up at its bow and listing slightly starboard."
