What do you really think of Castle Cable? - Sunday, July 08, 2007 at 5:06:21 PM

Lately I have been hearing story after story involving Castle Cable. Whether it involves their Cable Service or their Internet Service, it seems like people have issues with them.

So whether good or bad, let's hear from the people?

My uncle just got Time Warner in Three Mile Bay. He has the internet and digital. Gets over 200 channels, and the road runner is faster than Castle Cable. He pays the same as I do for my internet and 60 channels with C.C. My folks were over to my uncles when the Time Warner installer was there. He said there comming to the area soon. How true it is? Well we'll see.

When we 1st put a web cam in Skiffs Skiffs had Castle Cable Internet. While the upload speeds for the camera feed were a little faster than DSL the Castle Cable Connection went down at least 5 times a day. Because of that keeping the web cam running became a real hassle. Since Skiffs switched to DSL the internet connection hardley ever goes down and the cams run great although not quite as fast. Castle Cable is also useless if you need to get help. Most calls to them get outsourced.

Lately our cable has been really snowy on the upper channels. Castle cable has been to our house many times to try to fix it, but they are saying that we have old equipment and we need to update it, which would cost us. This is not our problem. It is theirs so we should not have to pay for it. We are really thinking about getting a dish. Time Warner would make a killing if they were down in this area.

I have lived in A-bay my whole life and over the years the cable has gotten worse. And I moved recently in between redwood and hammond and could not get cable. I found it awful funny seeing how the cable company is now based out of Hammond. What a joke. And people that I know have it say they lose service all the time and half the channels don't come in. Why don't you do all of us a favor and leave so we can get real cable.

Well Well Well ... I am happy to see this is a subject here. We switched to dish because we have never been more unhappy with a cable company. They have the worse reception ever and this is suppose to be cable????? No digital quality channels and way way to much money for the so called service you get. I will never go back. Well unless someone like Time Warner comes in!!!!

Something really needs to be done with Castle Cable. They need to upgrade to digital or see about selling to Time Warner. The picture quality at my house is snowy at best. Sometimes the picture gets really bad and the internet goes out and I have to go outside and hit the box on the side of the house to clear it up.

Castle Cable...hmmm let me see. Each Tuesday night Channel 4 would go off 10 minutes prior to the end of Idol. You would then have to quickly find another channel to watch the end. Then the one night there was the race on, it went off. Castle Cable should not be allowed to be the ONLY choice we have for TV other than dish. How many times can Everybody Loves Raymond be repeated! We pay for duplicate stations? Castle Cable needs to think about the subscribers and not their pockets.
