I was just looking over the chamber events schedule and the sad truth is that there isn't a damn thing going on until Pirate Days! I mean really.. it' like a whole month of NOTHING... check it out for yourselves!! Events What happened to the Roaring 20's weekend? It was definetely not a favorite of mine but at least it was something. There really should be be something interesting going on in the bay every weekend in the summer. At the very least there should be a block party every single Friday. It should be regular occurance. (Take a trip down to Ft. Lauderdale By The Sea and see how a real block party is handled on a Friday Night!) Craft Fairs, Concerts in the Park.. Antique Boat Shows in Clayton? That's about all I see going on according to the Chamber Events Page. BORING... It's like the Bay is wasting a whole month of the summer by having no interesting events!! Alex Bay needs to get it's shit together. Business owners, chamber members, board members, and everyone else need to stop disagreeing with one another work together to make this town great like it once was. Cooperation and working together is the key. The more events the better, the less restrictions on what business owners and people with new ideas can do the better. And to all the complainers and all the people that don't think anything is a good idea: Sometimes you have to see the big picture. One particular event might not help everyone , but overtime a higher number of events will bring more people to this town year after year. I'll leave you with one last thought: The Alexandria Bay Chamber Events page says "something is always happening in The Bay". Humm??

i agree with you chris the town sucks now. it is a dead horse. thats what happens when you have the idiots runing the town that are currently doing so. anything even remotely fun in the town gets ruined by either the town board or the police both of which have nothin better to do than mess the town up even worse than it is. you can tell this by the fact that the streets are bare everynite after dark. most of the businnesses close early. even the towns main attraction which is the river is being ruined. if you are on the river you can almost guarantee that you are goin to be stopped by the coast guard for no reason other than being out there. if you are out around dark forget about it you are deffinately goin to get stopped borded and harassed just for being out there. i remember as a kid goin out on the river and enjoying it anytime of the day it has acctually gotten to a point that i dont even bother goin out on the river or to the bay

I left the bay 3 years ago and alot of things stopped because of the way the owners of businesses couldn't agree. The block dances should come back as families can enjoy them together. It also would keep kids out of trouble.

Agreed, my family and I have come to the Bay for 12 yrs and I was kind of disappointed to look at the event calender for this month since we're coming up next week, and see nothing of extreme interest to do. Besides the occasional Boldt Castle tour, and trip to Canada, the Bay doesn't have much to do this year besides the crafts and souvenir stores...
