Plans are underway for the 1st Annual Eric Hutchinson Memorial Hockey Tournament scheduled for Friday, January 11 through Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Town of Alexandria Municipal Arena and Bonnie Castle Recreation Center.
The first tournament will be open to all Tier III Tournament-Bound PeeWee and Bantam registered USA hockey players. Team registration fee is $600, with a 3-game guarantee and a tournament T-shirt. We hope to have 6 to 8 teams in each division. Plans also include a hospitality party for the parents and players.
Two Alexandria Central School alumni games will be part of the weekend events - one planned for those 30-and-under and one for 30-and-over, with the odd-and-even graduating years playing each other. The participation fee for the alumni game is $10/player.
Although the committee is in the early stages of planning, the plans include live music, a trophy for the winning teams and a plaque that will remain in the Alexandria Bay Arena with each year's winning team engraved on it.
