I was downtown today and ran into some Divers who were bringing in some trash and garbage they found in the River.

This included a full shopping cart, the upper half of a shopping cart, plenty of misc junk and an old drum.

I really should have asked them if they wanted their pictures taken with the haul, but I didn't.

Regardless, THANKS GUYS FOR HELPING TO CLEAN UP OUR RIVER !!

Chris -- those divers are part of an annual cleanup that they do at the Village dock and Scuba Park; then they hold their annual cookout. Dave Hinman of the Delta Divers from Rome have organized this for us for the past 4 years. Thanks for the photos; they are part of Project AWARE whose goal is to conserve the underwater environment through education.
