Fire Dept Responds To Garlock Lumber Alarm - Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 9:33:22 PM
At about 7:30 PM tonight the Fire Department responded to a situation at Garlock Hardware & Lumber in Alexandria Bay. At 1st they did a search as it was believed to be electrical. They eventually found a trash can which by the time they brought it out was in flames.

Those guys do a great job. They have my respect. While guys like us hang out at the bar or are too lazy to get up from watching TV they run out at a moments notice to keep people and places safe. Nice report.

I'd like to add that even though I said this wasn't a serious situation what I really should have said is that it is fortunate this situation ended the way it did. This like any fire situation could have developed into something a lot more serious. Bad choice of words when I was narrating but I think everyone knows what I meant by it.
