| I would find it out of taste to decorate a tree in front of the church.

Don't blame the poor guy who owns the ice cream stand for the crappy tree. Nobody asked him anything, they just go ahead and put it up on his property. A real tree would look great and I don't see where it would be a huge problem anchoring it.

This has alwayays been s problem, all it takes is a few people with the effort to go out and get the job done. believe it or not money should not be a problem, getting people to care is a harder job (former) Mayor patrick Simpson

Molly, you and your team of volunteers did a great job going around and putting up decorations this year and I mean that. As you say, next we'll find some sort of intelligent solution regarding this tree thing. Once we decide on the size and criteria we can advertise ahead of time looking for a suitable tree. (donation possibly) I can get some guys to help out too with labor. If the base is wide and strong enough and can be weighted down with sandbags or cinder blocks it should be fine. If we build it so it can swivel down it makes decorating it a lot easier/safer and it we can also bring it down should there be any freak wind storms.. Then the base we build can be used again year after year.. All this might not be possible.. but I dont see why it wouldn't work.

| The tree issue has been a ongoing problem for years, A real tree won't stand up. can't tie it into the new blacktop. Last time I went to get one, everyone complained it was to small, not bushy enough, kept falling over, if anyone wants to go drag one with me, find someone to let them use their power beside me for a change, and get it to stand without harming someones property...............Lets do it next year.
