| if you are that hard up to make $5.oo an hour you better get a life maybe their are some amish that are bad but they are few and far between and there is bad in all human race not just the amish oh and by the way they are using the lumber instead of loading up the land fill also warren it takes more than just you to take down a whole building and i don't think anyone but you would work for $5 an hour just ask them

| Kudos to them for taking it down however I don't remember seeing or hearing about anyone looking for people to take it down. I would have gladly taken $5/hr for that much work. Also the amish are not to be revered; between sexual abuse, rape and incest. They are more and more frequently showing to be a truly disgusting people.

| i got the skinny on this from actual Amish..the Amish in NY...at least the ones I had the pleasure to talk to ... could care less if you take their photo, they just dont want folks asking them to Pose and they don't want close up pictures taken. Candid pictures from afar are fine. I see nothing wrong with the pictures taken here. Some people obviously need to chill out. This is not a big deal.

| It is sad to read many of these comments. why does it anger people that the amish do not want be photographed? there are many native cultures that feel the same way. Has anyone thought about our young people being killed in Iraq because there is a faction of the muslim world that want t us dead solely because we do not believe what they believe? What a sad commentary for our community!

| I'd just like to say that the thing about Amish people not wanting their pictures taken for religious regions is pure bull. They don't want pictures taken in a scenario like this because they are working outside of their Amish Community and therefore are supposed to be paying Social Security when doing work like this. I know many local Amish people and that is the deal with the pictures.

| I think it is great the Amish are in our town it is very refreshing. If you really knew any of them you would relize how calming they are. There is enough construction to go around every contractor you talk is busy and the very busy months are coming. All english people, that is what the amish call us would probably just waste all that material so everyone should just be happy that we are going to have some more beautiful waterfront thanks to Ronnie and the amish

| If you want to bash Mr. Thomson for hiring the Amish to take down the buildings then get a life. If you wanted the job you should of stood up and said something. I do not believe that this topic should be blown up into a big deal. Get over it. They are doing the work. Nothing is going to be done by complaining. No one wants to hear it. Just drop it and get off your asses and do something with your life then sit infront of your computer and bash eachother. The Amish are doing something to make Alex Bay better. They are cleaning up the waterfront for the walk way that is going to be put in. You should all be happy with what they are doing. Gosh..Be a good citizen go give them a cup of coffee.

People better wake up. They are doing are jobs and getting paid without having to pay taxes on income, land, school, and there pay. something is wrong with this picture.

The site is going to be improved. There was a grant company at the village board meeting a couple months back. The building was a point of concern. I am curious as to how much the village paid to have (ECL) I believe that was the grant company come up with recommendations. I am also curious as to how much the village is going to pony up for improvements to the waterfront areas for the benefit of the tourist business.

| Ronnie finally found someone to work cheap enough to get that crap heap taken down... at least it is coming down, that place has been an embarassment for years. Any idea what is going to happen with that space? Not sure how much land is there as most of it is under water. Should improve the look of the waterfront. Now if only we could move the hospital inland.....
