Oh No !! The JLG Scissor Lift is Sinking !! - Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 5:54:48 PM

I wonder if that is what workers said as this monstrous scissor lift started going through the ice at the Inlet Harbor Club project in Alexandria Bay today.

Anyway, this is what one normally looks like.

And this is what one looks like when the ice it's on is melting.

NOTE: Earlier this morning there was a guy leaving comments on here pretending to be Ron Thomson. It was not Ron nor does Ron have anything to do with the Harbor Club project. It was an IP Address from Texas. Anyway, I am very annoyed with whoever left those comments and that person is no longer welcome on this site whoever they are. Coming on here and pretending to be someone else is not cool. Any further comments mentioning Ron will be removed.

Why would you feel sympathy for the rental company? Won't the person who rented the machine be responsible to pay for any damages?

For what it's worth the contractor is from Syracuse...how about a little sympathy for the rental company who owns the lift, eh?

Hindsight is 20-20 right? Where were all you when you saw it on the ice to begin with? Why didn't you question it then?

Well someone should be responsible for the desicion to have it on the ice and he should be gone. Also he or she should pay the fines as I am sure the DEC are investigating??? I am sure are fish are loving the fresh hydraulic fluid seepin in the river?? Nice move guys..

It's nice to know that there are idiots in other places besides the south Jefferson area of the county.

Why would they have it on the ice this time of the year anyway, how stupid. I dont spend time on the ice very much and even I can see how thin it is getting.

I hope they bought the " loss damage waiver" when they rented it ! I say we tow it out to the main channel and make a dive site out of it ! Or maybe the Coast Guard will com ein and blast it as a navigational hazard , maybe take the club with it !!! hahaahha

That is an expensive piece of equipment.
I don't think I would have put it on the Ice in the first place!
