| Being proactive vice reactive. It's refreshing to see the cooperation and dialog between the involved organizations for the concern and care of the river. BZ saltwater. |

| I just wanted to echo Jennifer's statements. Hopefully we will never have to use this group of volunteers but we want to be ready. Also even though the newspaper article makes it sound like this is a Coast Guard program this is a Save the River effort that Coast Guard Sector Buffalo, Station Alexandria Bay and MSD Massena are assisting them with the "training" portion of it. Save the River is the one managing the program thanks to people like Jennifer and Sarah Walsh I think we have the start of a good thing for the River Communities. |

Thanks so much for getting out the word on this program! Save The River will be organizing several more of these training sessions in the summer and fall. In the event of a major emergency or spill on the River, we're going to need all the help we can get so we're trying to get as many volunteers involved as possible. Hopefully we'll never need to activate the volunteer network but we want to be ready just in case. Anyone interested in participating can just sent me an e-mail (jennifer@savetheriver.org) and we'll notify you of upcoming sessions.
