The Eagle Hawk (Pictures) - Friday, April 18, 2008 at 10:10:22 AM

Is it an Eagle or a Hawk? Abay Paparazzi says he is not sure but he thinks it is an Eagle..
One has been reported to be hanging around the Hospital Area as of late.

Maybe one of you bird experts can chime in on this one..

An eagle's wings are straight when gliding in the air and a turkey vulture has more of a V shape when it is gliding, Also an eagles wing tip feathers are flared out like you see in these pictures and a vulture is closer together. The only thing here is the head really looks like a vulture so I am not 100% positive either way.

You are absolutely right, Vacant13, it's a turkey vulture, riding the winds in search of carrion.

Pretty sure its a turkey vulture because of the red head and the darkness of the body. A little large for an eagle, but still gorgeous shots!
