To the comments about having the village do this, now does this mean you guys back home taking care of trash that you see or is this the DPW having to take care everything you guys bitch about?. Because to me its you guys bitching, everyone should be responsible for various tasks and chores.... Its funny how many people complain about the trash around town but when the village does its annual spring cleaning i only see about 25 to 30 people helping. Anyways good job for doing something thw whole village should be doing. Your Truly

| Lets see-the town tax rate is now zero right? Last year it was .11 cents? I think? Ok so on my million dollar assesment I saved 110.00 there in town taxes but my total taxes still went up one heck of a lot. I do wonder sometimmes how so many waterfront parcels go up and so many others went down. Not assesments per say in general but dollars out of pocket. Great country isnt it, Reminds me of reading Robin Hood all over.

Again, take a look at the corporate boundries of the village of Alexandria Bay. 12 islands of which none have multi million dollar assesments are within the corporate limits. 5 are assessed at just over 1 million and at the currant village tax rate generate betwen 35 and 40 thousand dollars a year in village taxes. As usual things are not always what they seem. I find one of the misconceptions hardest to deal with is public confusion over town village and county responsibiliteis and the resulting cost to the taxpayer. please read your tax bill and get an understanding of this concept. It will become much clearer who is responsible for services and the resulting tax for those services. : todays quiz question: what is the current tax rate in the Town of Alexandria? Thanks for listening Patrick Simpson Former Mayor Village of Alexandria Bay

| Well, although that may not have been the best response to your questions, our village employees are in my opinion highly underpaid. We live in an area that should be one of the wealthiest tax based in the country. Where do all of these multi-million dollar river property taxes go to ? I hope the new police chief doesn't like the North Star as much as previous years....

| When we asked the village worker what we should do and where we should pick up his response was " Anywhere is fine, as long as I do not have to do it". What kind of response is that for a village worker who is suppose to keep Alexandria Bay a nice place to visit and to live?

| Way to go!.You are to be commended for doing this, although you should not have had to. This should be taken care of by the village on a daily basis.
