I go to the St. Lawrence every summer at least 4-5 times and every time we go, we stay at either campgrounds or rent a cottage/ cabin. The last one we stayed at (4th of July week) wasnt anything great, and it seemed like we over payed for what we thought was going to be something better.

I just want to know what everyone's experiences have been with different cottages and/or campgrounds and/or resorts in the area (Clayton, A-bay, Morristown, etc.) have been like.

I will post mine below but MAYBE there should be an area here that we can rate them? hint hint

Jacque Cartier State Park: Generally a pretty decent campground but if you want water front you better book MONTHS in advance especially for peak weekends. Watch out for Goose Poop! Most sites in the "overflow" section are pretty nice, wooded, shaded, but still grassy. The overflow area has a nice selection of sites to everyone's own preference. The lower waterfront sites are clean, geese pretty much stay out because they are buisy, but there's not much shade for these sites. They do have a pretty nice view of the river.

Krings Point State Park: Rocky ground! Nice campground, tons of sites, lots of waterfront, decent fishing close by, cabins and sites both. Not much more to say. It's a good campground with plenty to do and plenty of places for everyone to enjoy. Close enough to town to enjoy the nightlife and yet still a campground by itself.

Pine Tree Point Resort: When I was there I had a great time. We stayed here while attending a friend's wedding and the room we had was PERFECT! We had a second story room with a balcony over the river it was a Clean room, nice bed, BEAUTIFUL view at night and day of Boldt castle, it was quiet, there's a restaurant downstairs to enjoy, a small gift shop, boat dockage, cabins to rent. It's a very enjoyable place from my experience.

Keewaydin State Park: Clean Campground elevated above the St. Lawrence river, there are sites along the river but trees do limit what you can and cant see quite a bit. There is a boat ramp with deep water dockage for larger boats that also accomodates smaller boats as well.

I'll post more later, please leave your thoughts. THANKS!

My husband and I rent two small cottages on Carnegie Bay.  This will be our third season renting.  We started advertising here on abay.com and the reservations roll in.   Thanks a ton Chris!  Check us out ..

The cottages were built in the 50's and we are gradually making updates....it is like camping with a lot of perks from home.  We love renting...you meet so many new, interesting people.  It is a great summer job for a teacher!

And I thank you very much for your yearly listing.

100/year folks.. that is what it costs to have a business listed in the directory and they are telling you 1st hand that they get results because of it.
